The Averitt Lecture Series resumed with the presentation of “Home From Africa” by noted author and newspaperman Remer Tyson. Heritage Video proudly filmed the event and DVDs of the lecture will soon be available through the Historical Society.

Heritage Video was proud to film Dr. Waldo Floyd at RJ’s in Statesboro, GA as he gave his account of “The Historic Cone Family” with a focus on America Cone McElveen. Check with the Historical Society to purchase a copy of this lecture.

This show was a two-camera shoot. The dancers were all very talented and did a great job! To purchase copies of the video DVD, contact the Savannah Arts Academy for more info.

The games are held at the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church on North Main, just inside the city limits. This will be the fifth fall season the Heritage Video has filmed the games.

Russ Lanier is back as Elvis! It was an energetic show with full live instrumentation and Vegas style dancers. Both Friday and Saturday shows were sold out.

“Dressed in a chic black tunic and bell bottoms that matched his long but neatly combed black-tinted hair. Elvis Presley stepped onstage last week at the Emma Kelly Theater in Statesboro Georgia and launched into the driving beat of ‘C.C. Rider’.
The audience of over 700, most of them over 30, roared and squealed in nostalgic appreciation. In spite of his updated look, Elvis hadn’t changed at all in the nearly three years since his last personal appearance.
Shaking, gyrating and quivering, he again proved himself worthy of his nickname, The Pelvis. Oozing the sullen sexuality that threw the America into a state of shock in the 50′s, he swiveled through a medley of ‘Viva Las Vegas,’ ‘Burning Love,’ ‘Blue Suede Shoes,’ ‘Suspicious Minds’ and ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’.
It was hard to believe he was 48!”
